Women’s Volleyball: Lady Wildcats Sweep PSU Scranton in Final Regular Season Home Match

 

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With the help of 33 kills and 24 aces as a team, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team swept Penn State Scranton 3-0 Thursday night. The Lady Wildcats won 25-6, 25-15, 25-13 hitting an impressive .393 as a team. The home match was the final for the regular season for Penn College as they improve to 12-17 overall and 11-15 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.  

  

For Penn College, junior Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led all hitters with 17 kills and added 11 aces. Freshman Ashlee Dick (Petersburg) led the defense totaling six digs of the team's 23.  

  

Also for the Lady Wildcats, freshman Cathleen Aviles (Robesonia) had 27 assists and freshman Kaitlyn Klein (Lock Haven) had eight kills and eight service aces.  

 

Next up, Penn College travels to Alfred State for its final two games of the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m.
