Volleyball wins against Penn State Wilkes-Barre

Lehman, PA- Penn State Beaver women's volleyball wins against Penn State Wilkes-Barre, making their conference record, 10-5.

In the first set, Beaver played really strong and had great scoring effort. They had 7 kills, which kept them above Wilkes-Barre who only scored 9 times. Beaver also passed very well compared to their efforts on Saturday. Beaver scored quickly wrapping out the set, 25-9.

In the second set, both teams played exactly the same as the first set. Beaver passed the ball effortlessly and capitalized on almost all of their attempts. They had 11 kills in the set and when Wilkes-Barre would attempt to score, Beaver would stop it. The set score was 25-9, Beaver.

In the last set, Wilkes-Barre attempted to try and come back but Beaver's momentum was already built and unstoppable. Beaver continued to score with kills and stop Wilkes-Barre's attempts. The set score was 25-18, with a match score of 3-0, Beaver.

Beaver's key players were Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA/Sto-Rox), Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls), and Sam Brophy (Pittsburgh, PA/North Catholic) who had a combined 21 kills.

Beaver's next match is on October 16, at 6 p.m. against Mercyhurst. Hopefully the momentum keeps up and Beaver brings home more wins.
