Women’s Volleyball: Lady Wildcats Come Up Aces Against PSU Wilkes Barre

 

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Notching 32 aces as a team, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team defeated Penn State Wilkes Barre 3-0 Thursday. Junior Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) and freshman Kaitlyn Klein (Lock Haven) each recorded eight in the win with Gernert also hitting 11 kills to lead the team. With the victory, the Lady Wildcats improve to 8-16 overall and 7-4 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

 

Penn College only allowed the Lions to score 13 points in the game winning 25-7, 25-4, 25-2. Gernert had one of her strongest serving games to date in set three winning 16 straight points on serve.

 

Also for the Lady Wildcats, freshman Cathleen Aviles (Robesonia) had 10 assists and sophomore Loralee Lindemuth (Tidioute) had five aces.

 

Next up, Penn College hosts travels to Penn State Hazleton for a conference quad match against Penn State Beaver and New Kensington on Saturday, Oct. 12.
