Lady Lions fall to Franciscan University

Steubenville, OH- The Lady Lions fall to Franciscan University in a showdown of the most consistent team.

Throughout the match, Franciscan University was able to keep their playing tempo up which had Beaver crack under their force. Beaver barely achieved 13 points in the first set. The Lions had a very weak passing effort and their serve reception was very poor.

At certain points in the match Beaver was able to pull it together and hit hard and smart, which was just enough to put points on the board. They couldn't capitalize on that though and were immediately shut down again by a Franciscan. Beaver lost the second set, with a score of 10.

The third set was no different and Beaver's offense just couldn't find their momentum nor could their defense keep up with Franciscan's offense. Beaver was only able to score an underwhelming 12 points in the last set. Beaver lost 3-0.

Two key players for Beaver were Kalynn Hill (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour) and Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA/Sto-Rox), who each had a combined of five kills. Gamble also had 17 total attempts.

Beaver's next match is Wednesday, September 25th against La Roche.
