Women’s Volleyball: Lindemuth Notches 14 Kills in Win Over PSU Scranton

 

SCRANTON, Pa. – With the help of 14 kills from sophomore Loralee Lindemuth (Tidioute), the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team defeated Penn State Scranton 3-0 Wednesday. The Lady Wildcats were strong on the service line recording 18 aces, including five from Lindemuth. With the win, Penn College improves to 2-8 overall and 2-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

 

Penn College dominated the match taking leads in all three sets and never letting up winning 25-12, 25-13, 25-7. Junior Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) helped the cause with 10 kills, four aces and seven digs. Freshman Cathleen Aviles (Robesonia) recorded 22 assists in the win.

 

Also for the Lady Wildcats, Kaitlyn Bailey (Millerton) had five aces and freshman Ashlee Dick (Petersburg) had nine digs.

 

Next up, Penn College travels to Valley Forge Christian College on Thursday, Sept. 19 for a 7 p.m. match.
