Women’s Volleyball: Errors Plague Lady Wildcats in Loss to PSU Mont Alto

 

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team committed 36 errors on its way to a 3-0 loss to Penn State Mont Alto Sunday. The Lady Wildcats lost the sets 25-15, 25-15, 25-20. Junior Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led with 14 kills while sophomore Loralee Lindemuth (Tidioute) added 12. With the loss, the team falls to 1-8 overall and 1-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. 

 

In all three games, Penn College battled through the first few points keeping Mont Alto close. Errors allowed the Lions to go on runs and make the margin insurmountable. As a team, Penn College totaled 14 attack errors, 10 receiving errors and five ball handling errors.

 

Senior Rachel Heller (Allison Park) had a strong defensive game with 17 digs and freshman Cathleen Aviles (Robesonia) added 23 assists.

 

Next up, the Penn College travels to Penn State Scranton for a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
