Wildcats Improve to 20-7 with Win Against PSU Hazleton

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team swept Penn State Hazleton 3-0 in conference action Saturday. Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) and sophomore Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) each had seven kills to lead the team. Also for the Wildcats, sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) had 16 digs. The win improves the team to 20-7 overall and 14-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

All three sets were tight early before Penn College went on runs and won the three games 25-11, 25-11, 25-13. Sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) and freshman Morgan Moberg (Huntingdon) shared setting duties and had nine and eight assists respectively.

In addition, the team was strong on the serving line with 14 aces, eight of which came from Gernert.

Next up, the Wildcats travel to Penn State Scranton for their final regular season match on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 12 p.m.
