Lady Wildcats Sweep PSU Harrisburg 3-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) had 14 kills and 10 digs to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep against Penn State Harrisburg. The Wildcats won 25-12, 25-11, 26-24 improving their overall record to 16-5. Sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) led all players with 25 assists while freshman Gabrielle George (Morton) did the same in digs with 11.

Penn College breezed through the first two sets thanks in large part to strong attack play from Gernert, senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) and sophomore Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro). Hebert ended the game with nine kills and had three blocks while Powell had eight kills and was strong in serve in two aces.

Harrisburg looked to make a comeback in set three taking an 18-15 lead but Penn College stayed tough and made some strong digs to take the set.

Next up, the Wildcats travel to Penn State Beaver for a conference quad match on Saturday, Oct. 13 starting at 2 p.m.
