Strong Serving Gives Wildcats 3-0 Win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – In front of a packed Bardo Gymnasium, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team put out a dominant performance sweeping Penn State Wilkes Barre 3-0. The Wildcats put on a show at the service line with 17 aces. Freshman Gabrielle George (Morton) led with six aces and added 6 digs to the mix. Penn College now improves to 9-5 overall and 5-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

The Wildcats did not allow Wilkes Barre (0-7, 0-5 PSUAC) to get into the match taking the sets 25-6, 25-4, 25-4. Also for the team, sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led with nine kills and three blocks. Senior Tara Powell had an impressive four kills and aces and sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) and freshman Morgan Moberg (Huntingdon) each had eight assists.

Next up, Penn College travels to Lackawanna College for a 6 p.m. match on Thursday, Oct. 4.
