Wildcats Take Third at Lycoming Classic; Hebert Named to All-Tournament Team

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team took third place at the Lycoming College Volleyball Classic Saturday. The Wildcats finished up round robin play with a 3-1 loss to Misericordia University but bounced back to a 3-1 win against The City College of New York in the third place match. Sophomore Kelly Hebert was named to the all-tournament team. Hebert was strong defensively for the Wildcats racking up 10 blocks in the two matches. The split gives Penn College an 8-5 overall record.

Against Misericordia, errors were the culprit as the Wildcats committed 21 and added seven service errors. They lost 25-21, 14-25, 25-18 and 25-21. Sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led with 10 kills and and 20 digs. Sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) notched 14 assists and freshman Morgan Moberg (Huntingdon) shared setting duties adding 13.

Against CCNY, Penn College dropped the first set 26-24 taking the next three 25-11, 25-17, 25-18. Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) and sophomore Melissa Lake (Winburne) each had eight kills to the lead the team. Moberg was on point with 19 assists and 13 digs.
