Women's Volleyball Drops Fifth Straight

Pittsburgh, Pa- Before kicking off their PSUAC schedule, the Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team traveled to Carlow, where they suffered a 3-0 (11-25, 7-25, 18-25) defeat.  The loss was their fifth straight, since beginning the season 2-0.

  Sophomore Alyssa Finocchi (Baldwin, PA) led the GA offense with six kills on 15 total attacks, for a .400 hitting percentage.  She also added 14 service receptions and six digs.  Fellow sophomore Christina Floyd (St. John Neumann, PA) also was strong on the attack, drilling three kills.  Junior Helena Vasser (Schenley, PA) turned in a solid defensive effort, recording 18 service receptions and six digs.

  The loss drops Greater Allegheny's record to 2-5, as they prepare to open the PSUAC portion of their schedule.  In the first home match of the season, GA hosts Penn State Fayette next Wednesday, September 19.  The match tips off at 7 PM.
