Beaver drops two as they close out the La Roche Tournament

Pittsburgh, PA--- The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver fell twice on Saturday morning, once to Penn State Fayette and once to La Roche College. The first game against Fayette, Beaver dropped the first three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-17. Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, Sto-Rox) led Beaver with 2 blocks and 2 kills while Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls) also had 2 kills. Amanda Palumbo (Aliquippa, Quigley Catholic) had 2 aces and Miranda Pfeiffer had 2 digs for Beaver. Beaver's second game of the day was against the host team, La Roche and Beaver once again got the loss while dropping the first 3 sets. The scores of the sets were 25-14, 25-18, 25-13. Gamble led Beaver once again as she collected 6 kills and 5 blocks while Pfeiffer had 6 digs.

Despite the losses, Beaver showed much improvement from last weekend and look to be ready for their home opener which will take place Monday night at the Beaver Fieldhouse as they host CCBC at 7pm. As always, continue to check out the athletic website for updates all season long.
