CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team faced a strong team in #1 Maine-Fort Kent losing 7-0 in the quarterfinals of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Championships Thursday. Sophomore Reda Vermilya (Turbotville) and freshman Colleen Bowes (Wayne) combined for 13 saves in goals for the game. With the loss, the Lady Wildcats fall to 10-7-2 overall.
Fort-Kent scored five unanswered goals in the first half, scoring all between the 14th and 27th minutes. Bowes recorded eight saves off of 20 shots. In the half, the Lady Wildcats totaled two shots.
The Bengals added their final two goals in the second half with Vermilya notching five saves. Penn College was able to get more offense totaling five shots.
For the game, the Lady Wildcats totaled seven shots with sophomore Madilyn Walters (Lewistown) leading the team with two.
