Wildcats over Fayette 41-9
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team defeated Penn State Fayette 41-9 Friday night. The Wildcats took three of the four bouts wrestled and earned bonus points through forfeit. The win improves the team to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
Freshman Kyle Sunseri (Athens) put Penn College on the board first pinning his opponent Mhye Brown at 4:06 at 141. At 149, freshman Derek Leiby (Troy) followed with a tough contest with Jacob Durbin just getting the pin at 6:55.
Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) and Dan Karpency wrestled in the toughest match of the night at 157 with Karpency just edging out Myers 7-5 in overtime. Freshman Logan Gresock (Wadsworth, Ohio) continued to dominate this season with a tech. fall win over Mark Hall 18-5 in the 174 bout.
The Wildcats next host Thaddeus Stevens College on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 1 p.m.
