PSU DuBois wrestlers defeat PSU Beaver

Penn State DuBois defeated PSU Beaver in a home wrestling match 53-3, it was the first dual meet in school history for the Beaver campus. Beaver started the season with 13 wrestlers, but were only able to send 4 wrestlers to the mat Wednesday night against DuBois. Athletic Coordinator, Ken Nellis acknowledges the difficulties of starting a new program "growing pains and having students commit to the team are a struggle sometimes when starting a new team." Beaver Coach Jeff Winkle has 3 wrestlers with injuries and was notified earlier in the day that a wrestler quit the team earlier in the day.
In contested matches, DuBois won 3 out of the 4 bouts. 149lbs. Kasey Haines defeated Beaver's Dylan Winkle by Tech. Fall 15-0, 165lbs. Garret Singer defeated Bob Tempalski 12-6, 184lbs. Stephen Terwilliger won by dec. 11-6. In the final bout at 285lbs Beaver's Wesley Mummert defeated Chris Minarchick, 5-4.
Picking up victories for PSU DuBois via forfeit were:
125 – Nick Bogacki, 133- Josh Kunig, 141-Garrett Zarecky, 157-Shane Alterio, 174-Ryan Terwilliger, 197-Chike Okolo, 235-Anthony Ferguson.
Penn State DuBois wrestling will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 19th when the host Penn College at Multipurpose Building at 6pm.
