Women lose in first game against Ohio Valley University
Vienna, West Virginia- Penn State Beaver's women's basketball team loses their first game of the season to Ohio Valley University.
In the first period, Beaver came out with the hopes of pulling out a win. They were playing hard and were initially keeping up with Ohio Valley's scoring efforts. Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA / Ellwood) led Beavers first period scoring effort with 8 points followed by Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA / Trinity) who had 7. Unfortunately, Beaver had a really weak defensive effort allowing Ohio Valley to score point after point ending the period 30-64, Ohio Valley.
In the second period, Beaver held the score close with almost all of their starters scoring points. The top scorer was Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA / Westinghouse) who scored the bulk of the teams points in the second period with 11 total points. Beaver's efforts weren't enough to prevent Ohio Valley from winning 115-71.
Beaver's next match-up will be at the Penn State Beaver Tip off on November 16th.
