Monaca, Pa- After winning two straight games, the Greater Allegheny women's basketball team has now lost two straight, with a 64-52 loss at Penn State Beaver (13-8, 10-3). Beaver avenged its earlier loss- a last-second shot from GA beat them 56-55 on January 18th.
Sophomore Guard Megan Brinkos (McKeesport) led GA with 16 points, while Freshman Guard Taylor McCallister (Norwin) added 15. Freshman Forward Christina Floyd (St. John Neumann) scored 6 points, and hit double-digits in rebounds yet again, with 12. As a team, GA shot 27% from the field (17-64), including 28 % from behind the arc (5-18).
The loss drops the women's record to 10-14 overall, and 8-6 in the PSUAC. That wraps up the GA regular season, but they are expected to earn a birth in the PSUAC playoffs. The first round tips off Februay 16th.
