Beaver Undefeated In The PSUAC

Monaca, PA-Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball Team (4-1 , 2-0 , PSUAC) played their second conference game of the season against Penn State Worthington-Scranton (Dunmore , PA).

In the first half, Beaver came out starting the game on a 15-0 run before Scranton finally scored. Brooke Mulneix (Riverside/Beaver Falls, PA) scored the first six points for Beaver. Strong defense and multiple turnovers kept the Lady Lions up by as many as 16 throughout the half. At half time, Beaver led 31-15. 

The second half looked much like the first half with Beaver leading by as much as 26. Coleen Mead (Newport Harbor/Costa Mesa,CA) had three straight steals followed by three straight layups. With the game pretty much in Beaver's hands, Beaver went on to win 63-39.

For the evening, the Lady Lions they shot 32.4% from the field and 8% from the three-point range. Mulneix lead the team with 21 points followed by Amanda Temple (Avella/Avella, PA). Temple and Mulneix also had eight rebounds each as well, and Kalynn Hill (Montour/Pittsburgh, PA) had six steals. 

The Lady Lions will play Saturday, December 3, 2011 at home against Penn State Wilkes-Barre (Lehman, PA) at 1pm.
