Fall 2011 Tennis: PSU Mont Alto

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –The Pennsylvania College of Technology won 7-2 against Penn State Mont Alto Monday. The win improves the team to 6-2 overall and a solid hold on second place in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

The Wildcats swept all of the men's singles matches. Freshman Adam Smith (Duncannon) took first flight 6-0, 6-2 while freshman Chris Morrison (Hershey) came back from a first set loss to win 4-6, 6-4, 10-3. Sophomore Caleb Wise (Manheim) won 6-1, 6-2 in third singles and freshman Eric Isherwood (Pocomoke, Md.) took his fourth singles match to three winning 6-1, 4-6, 10-6.

Senior Rachel Emmons (Washington, N.J.) and freshman Laurea Lapp (Muncy) lost their singles matches, but partnered up to win women's doubles 6-0, 6-1.

In men's doubles action, Smith and Wise didn't drop a game winning first flight 10-0. Morrison and sophomore Adam Groff (Washington Boro) won their second doubles match 6-2, 6-0.

Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Oct. 19 for a 5:30 p.m. match.
