Softball Suffers Pair of PSUAC Losses

Hazleton, Pa- In their second straight day featuring a PSUAC double-header, the Greater Allegheny (4-9, 2-4 PSUAC) softball team dropped a twin bill against Penn State Hazleton by the scores of 15-3 and 15-0.

Freshmen Shelby Bendick (White Oak, PA/McKeesport) and Sydney Harris (Pittsburgh, PA/Woodland Hills) each collected two hits in game one, with Bendick adding an RBI. Sophomore Kelli Hall (McKeesport, PA/McKeesport) scored two GA runners with her lone hit, while junior Sam Segiel (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin), sophomore Jordyn Holsing (McKeesport, PA/Elizabeth Forward), and freshman Ashley Lowenstein (San Jose, CA/Presentation) all went 1-3.

Lowenstein finished game two a perfect 2-2 at the plate, and also stole a base. Junior Jessica Yanosky (West Newton, PA/Yough) and freshman Nichole Metzler (California, PA/California) added a hit apiece.

Greater Allegheny continues its PSUAC schedule this Thurday, April 18 when they host Penn State Beaver for a conference double-header. Game one start time is set for 12 PM.
