Beaver wins big over CCBC

This afternoon the Lady Lions took on the Lady Titans of CCBC in a cross town match-up. In the first game of the double header the Lady Lions opened the game hitting very well and never looked back. The next batter, Rachel Borrell (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) then singled to score Bowersox. Lauren Pier (New Brighton, PA/New Brighton) also singled to advance Borrell and both runners then advanced on passed balls leading to more runs for the Lady Lions. With runners on base, the opposing pitcher walked the clean up hitter, Korey Freyermuth (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) and an error allowed Sydney Brinton (Pittsburgh, PA/Brashear) to reach first. Rachael Charlier (Burgettstown, PA/Burgettstown) was next to step to the plate and hit a big double scoring Freyermuth and advancing Brinton. The hits continued as Taylor Larson (Beaver, PA/Beaver) singled to advance runners and before CCBC could end the inning, the Lady Lions had batted through the order with Bowersox doubling for the second time in the inning. In the first inning alone the Lady Lions scored 7 runs on 6 hits.

The game continued in a similar fashion in the second inning as Pier was walked to open the inning which was followed by a Freyermuth double. Before CCBC was able to get three outs, the Lady Lions had tacked on another 3 runs.

In the third inning, with the score 10-0 in favor of Beaver, the hits continued to come as Borrell, Pier, Freyermuth and Palombo all had hits in the inning.
