Softball: Lady Wildcats Drop Two on Day Three of Myrtle Beach Tournament

 

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team faced some tough opponents on day three of the Snowbird Softball Tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Lady Wildcats allowed 13 runs between two games losing 4-1 against Albert Magnus College and 9-0 to Daniel Webster College. Junior Lacy Lose (Avis) recorded the only RBI of the day going 2 for 3 against Albert Magnus. The losses now drop the team to 1-3 overall.  

  

Against Albert Magnus, the Lady Wildcats allowed four unanswered runs in the first six innings. With two outs in the seventh, Lose his a shot off the wall to score sophomore Stephanie Keifrider (Douglassville) who hit a double to get into scoring position. Lose was thrown out at second ending the game.

 

Lose did work on both ends of the game pitching seven with 11 hits and four strikeouts.

 

In game two, Daniel Webster struck quickly with five runs in the first. Freshman Christina Mignot (Hughesville) was charged with all five runs and was forced to exit the inning early due to an injury. Freshman Delaney Blubaugh (Waynesboro) came in relief and shut down the scoring but got into some trouble in the fourth when Daniel Webster scored its remaining runs.

 

Offensively, Penn College struggled totaling only three hits with sophomore Britni Fennell (Conyngham) and freshmen Samantha Hill (Montgomery) and Katie Kratzer (Selinsgrove) each recording one.

 

The Lady Wildcats will look to bounce back when they take on Norwich College and SUNY IT on Thursday, Mar. 14 starting at 11 a.m.
