#2 Lindenwood-Belleville 8 - #7 Penn State Beaver 3

AKRON, OH- Second-seeded Lindenwood University-Belleville defeated seventh-seeded Penn State Beaver by a score of 8-3 in first round USCAA Softball National Championship action. The Lady Lynx were led by All-American Stephanie Holliday who pitched six innings, giving up three runs, and added two hits and two runs scored. Brittany Snow and Alexandria Alakai combined for five hits and five RBI's for Lindenwood-Belleville who will advance to play the winner of the Spalding University - College of St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) game at 8:00 PM tonight.

Penn State Beaver was led by USCAA Honorable Mention All-American Ashley Watkins who had two hits and one RBI for the Lady Lions. Lauren Pier added two hits and two runs scored for a Penn State Beaver team that will face the loser of the Spalding University - College of St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) game at 8:00 PM in a game that will spell the end of the tournament for one of the participants.
