Schuylkill notches first win of the season.

Penn State Schuylkill recorded their first win of the season in a hard fought encounter in Schuylkill Haven. Schuylkill dominated the first 20 minutes of the match, but failed to convert their dominance into goals until the 19th minute when Chike Ubaka was played through to coolly finish past the stranded Scranton keeper. Despite Scranton re-asserting themselves as the game wore on, it was Schuylkill who struck again, with another well taken finish from Ubaka, doubling Schuylkill's lead on 32 minutes. It took just 3 minutes after the restart for Scranton to answer back. After some confusion over possession, Russell Lang managed to slide a neat shot underneath Schuylkill keeper Gabe Rehrberg. Then, just seven minutes later, Scranton were back to level terms. Rehrberg struggled to handle a shot with the rebound falling to Joe Evans for the easy finish.

As the second half began, Schuylkill regained their possession advantage, and that pressure paid off when the referee awarded a penalty for a hand-ball which Ubaka finished for his first hat trick of the season. 2 minutes later a magnificent displaying of 1 on 1 attacking saw Tom Orwig give himself enough space to finish from a narrow angle and restore Schuylkill's 2 goal lead. As the game teetered back and forth, both teams were creating chances but struggling to convert them. Another penalty was awarded in the 74th minute, again for hand-ball but this time in Scranton's favor. Bill Morrell converted the spot kick to set up a tense last 15 minutes which saw both teams squander chances. In the end, a brilliant run on 90 minutes from Tosin Olagunju saw him play a perfect cross to the head of a waiting Ryan McMahon for an easy finish and an exciting win for Schuylkill.
