Men's soccer wins against Penn State Mont Alto

Monaca, PA- Penn State Beaver men's soccer wins against Penn State Mont Alto in a shutout.

In the first half, Beaver came out very strong with Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) scoring at the 1:51 mark. Beaver began to pass the ball effortlessly and keep control all the way down to the net. At the 4:54 mark, Beaver's Mike Biskup (Monaca, PA/Center) would score, building Beaver's momentum even more than it had been. When Smith scores, he normally scores another goal after that and he did not disappoint making another goal at the 7:07 mark and another at the 10:45 mark for his second hat trick of the season. Beaver's Nidal Qaddumi (Boston, MA/International School of Choueifat Alain) would score shortly after that. Mont Alto's defense then began to stop Beaver's attempts but they could not capitalize on any of theirs. Biskup would score again to close out the first half, 6-0.

The second half was no better but this time no one would score except for Beaver's Jonathan Pogozelic (Wampum, PA/Ellwood City) at the 57:11 mark. Each defense played well this half but Beaver's goalies Matt Fetch (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) and Dominick Benson (West Mifflin, PA/West Mifflin) both stopped all the shots sent to them in each half. Gadjos had a total of 6 saves in the first half and Fetch had a total of 3 in the second. Beaver won 7-0.

Beaver's next match is against Bethany College on Saturday, October 19 at 1 p.m.
