Penn State Hazleton Wins 3rd Straight Team Golf Title; Antolick Captures Medalist Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State Hazleton has a real problem with letting go. Of a trophy, that is. Head coach Ryan Aten doesn't seem to mind, considering he's taking home his own hardware as the PSUAC Coach of the Year.

After years of anguish, and multiple second place finishes from 2010-2019, Hazleton has now won every PSUAC Golf team championship since the pandemic, this time doing so in dominant fashion. Hazleton placed four golfers among the PSUAC top 10, leading to a 30-stroke win in the 2023 PSUAC Golf Championship team race.

Second year starter Dylan Antolick led the way with a two-day total of 146, good for PSUAC Individual Medalist honors. Not only did Antolick take home conference accolades but he was also crowned as a national champion. Heading into the final round in fourth place and three strokes off the lead after a first round 74, Antolick fired an even par 72 on Tuesday at the Penn State Blue Course to capture the USCAA Individual Medalist national championship title by one shot. Antolick's margin in the PSUAC was three shots clear of conference runner-up Ryan Small of Penn State Mont Alto.

Antolick's teammates weren't far off the pace either. Joey Rebarchick finished third in the PSUAC after two consecutive 76's. Colin Hoy's 79-75 combo placed him in a tie for fourth and two-time champion Jeremy Harper finished sixth at 155. All told, Hazleton shot 306 on day one and 300 on day two to beat team runner-up Mont Alto, whose 636 total would have seriously contended for championship honors in years passed.

Antolick becomes the second PSUAC individual to win the USCAA medalist honors, doing so just a year after Penn State York's Logan Snyder won the title in 2022. Small finished tied for fourth in the USCAA after starting the day in third place. Rebarchick, Hoy, and Harper each earned USCAA All-American status as well. In addition, York's Tony Benkovic was a USCAA All-American.
