Men's Basketball: PSU Hazleton Too Strong in Win Over Wildcats

HAZLETON, Pa. - Penn State Hazleton shot an impressive .557 (39-70) from the field to beat the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team 105-76. Despite the loss, the Wildcats had five players in double figures with sophomore Jesse Newman (Waterfall) leading the team with 15 points. The loss drops Penn College to 3-12 overall and 2-5 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

 

Also for the Wildcats, sophomore Jason Greenfield (Wellsboro) notched 14 points while sophomore Scott Fenton (Dickson City) added 13. Rounding out the top scorers were freshmen Nathaniel Brown (Philadelphia) and Christopher Carrington (Ridley Park) with 11 points each.

 

Penn College totaled 37 rebounds with Fenton pulling down seven to lead the squad. The 76 points are the second highest this season for the team as it shot a strong .443 (27-61) from the field.

 

Next up, the Wildcats travel to Penn State Wilkes Barre on Saturday, Jan. 19 for a 3 p.m. game.
