Dubois Advanes to PSUAC Final

Dubois vs. Brandywine

After the dramatic upset in game one of the Men's semi finals where Penn State Wilkes Barre the #4 seed beat Beaver the #1 seed, it was time for the second semi final and the last game of the night.  This game would feature #2 Dubois and #7 Brandywine.  The games tip off went to Dubois but they could not make anything happen and Brandywine scored the game's first 5 points.  Dubois got their offence going and was able to get into the paint for some easy layups to tie the game at 8 at the 16 minute mark.  The teams traded points for a few minutes and Dubois called a time out with 12:30 left in the half and the game tied at 16.  Brandywine then went on a 12-4 run with the superb play of #15 Hany Abbass and two text book jumpers by #5 Rasheed Wilkins to put Brandywine up 28-20 with 8 minutes to go in the half.  Dubois then went on a run of their own with a three pointer by #11 Woody Mitchell and two lay ups by #33 Chris Dickison to close the gap to a one possession game.  Dickerson would add a 3 pointer and two lay ups to lead his team on a 12-5 run and end the half with Dubois leading 40-35.
Brandywine came out of the looker room firing out to 45-44 lead after a 10-4 run to start the second half.  But Dubois would answer back in the form of #33 Senior Forward Chris Dickison with 3 lay ups to giving him 25 points at that point in the game.  With 8 minutes left in the game Dubois would take a time out leading 62-56.  Coming out of the time out Dickison and #34 Jovan Brown would convert on layups to stretch Dubois's lead to it largest of the night (10).  With six minutes left in the game a double technical was called on Dickison from Dubois and #22 Mike McGlynn from Brandywine which sent McGlynn to the bench as he fouled out.   Dubois's Dickison had no ill effects from the Technical as he converted on two foul shots and an easy bucket to give him 14 second half points.  Brandywines #25 Zach Devito would hit a three pointer to bring his team within six of Dubois.  But Dubois would answer back the same way it had all night, #33.  It was truly the Chris Dickison show as he continued to own the paint and would end the game with 35 points.  Dubois Head Coach Dave Bennett called a timeout with less than a minute left just to calm his team down and give some last minute instructions.  After the time out Brandywines Zach Devito hit a long three pointer to once again bring his team within six of Dubois.  But Dubois would not let Brandywine get another possession or let them foul and would run out the clock and celebrate a 79-72 victory and a trip to the PSUAC championship finals.
Brandywines Zach Devito led his team with 23 points and 4 from beyond the arc all in the second half.  #22 Mike McGlynn had 17 and #5 Rasheed Wilkins added 16.  Dubois #34 Jovan Brown had 11 points and #1 Kai Ahmad had 10.  But it was Chris Dickison who led Dubois with 15 rebounds, 40 minutes, and an amazing 35 points to send Dubois to tomorrow's finals.
Dubois will play Wilkes Barre in tomorrow s finals at 3:00pm.
