Wildcats Dominate Baptist Bible 19-1

 WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. ?Sophomore Cody Buterbaugh (Conestoga) was 3-5 (.600) with four RBI to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team to a 19-1 win over Baptist Bible College.  Freshman Travis Hendershot (Muncy) also had a strong day going 3-4 (.750) with four runs and three RBI.  Senior Harrison Myers (Lebanon) gets the win going three innings and allowing only one hit with three strikeouts.

Penn College (7-4) jumped out 5-0 in the first off of RBI hits from Buterbaugh, Hendershot, senior Jared Johnson (Wyalusing) and freshman Craig Watson (McEwensville).  Johnson ended the game 2-3 (.667) with four RBI.

Baptist (1-8) starter Paul Merson settled after the first and held the team scoreless for the next two innings.  The Wildcats put up three in the fourth after loading the bases with no outs.  Senior Skylar Gingrich (Lititz) and Buterbaugh walked for the RBI while Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to right field.

Freshman Zachary Yetter (Thompsontown) came in relief for Harrison in the fourth.  A couple of mistakes from the Penn College defense allowed the Defenders to get on the board with a run.  Yetter got out of the inning with some ground balls and a strikeout.  He pitched two scoreless innings after striking out four.

The Wildcats continued to put runs up on the board with four in the fifth and another in the sixth.  They finished out the last two innings with six runs ending the game with the 18 run advantage.

Penn College finished the game with 15 hits.

Sophomore Jarod Bull (Jacobus) closed out the last three innings allowing only two hits and striking out three.  In total, the pitching staff allowed only four hits by Baptist Bible.

Next up, the Wildcats host King?s College on Tuesday, Mar. 27 for a 4 p.m. game.
