In Lorain Ohio, Notre Dame of Ohio defeated Penn State Beaver by a score of 5-4 in eight innings. The game was tied at four through seven innings and Notre Dame scored one in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Falcons the victory.

Tyler Schuster(Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls High School) threw a complete game pitching seven and one-third strong innings giving up only three earned runs on nine hits while striking out three. Unfortunately for Schuster, his impressive performance was not enough to get the victory. The Beaver bats started early, scoring one in the top of the first inning after Garrett Covalt (Aliquippa, Hopewell High School) doubled scoring Alex Filippi (Monaca, Center High School). They scored again in the second when James Musgrave (Economy, Ambridge High School) scored on an Andrew DiPietrantonio (Beaver, Beaver High School) fielder's choice and in the third when Covalt scored on a Grant Scott (Sewickley, Ann Arbor Pioneer High School) RBI single. Musgrave scored again in the sixth when Mike Karas (Imperial, West Allegheny High School) delivered a RBI single.

On the day, Covalt, Markus Allen (New Castle, Union High School) and James Pashuta (Beaver Falls, Beaver Falls High School) each had two hits and Musgrave scored two runs.

The second game of the doubleheader was rained out and the boys of Beaver will play again on Wednesday when they travel to Geneva College.
