Beaver wins the second game of the day

In Vero Beach Florida, the Beaver baseball team defeated Patriotes Academy, Quebec by a final score of 5-3. The winning pitcher for Beaver was freshman Steve Galmarini (New Castle, Union High School). Galmarini picked up his first career win by going five strong innings while giving up two runs on seven hits and striking out two. Cory Wagner (Monaca, Center High School) picked up the save by giving up no earned runs on no hits while striking out five in two innings of relief.

Beaver scored in the second inning when Zack Del Turco (Monaca, Monaca High School) when he tripled and then later scored on a Wagner RBI triple. They added one more in the third when Andrew DiPietrantonio (Beaver, Beaver High School) singled and then scored on a Del Turco single. Beaver scored again in the fourth when Tyler Schuster doubled and scored on a Billy Harrington (Monaca, Central Valley High School) RBI single and again in the fifth when Markus Allen (New Castke, Union High School) tripled and scored on a Del Turco sacrifice fly. The Beaver offense added to their lead in the sixth when James Pashuta singled and scored on a Harrington double. On the day, Del Turco had two hits and a RBI, Harrington had two hits and two RBI and Allen finished with two hits. Over the course of the day, Del Turco was 5-6 between the two games. Beaver improves to 3-2 on the year and they will finish their Spring Training trip tomorrow with game times starting at 9 and 12.
