MBB splits weekend

Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette Men's basketball had a tough start to the PSUAC Home Opener weekend on Friday. Fayette struggled to find footing from the start, especially without one of their higher scorers, Dasilas Jones. Fayette was down by 19 at the half, displaying a 0% in three point percentage. Despite the offensive improvement, scoring 51 to Lehigh Valleys 47, Fayette couldn't catch up from the first half. Fayette lost 98-83. Despite the loss, the silver lining was from fifth year player, Matt Forbes, who scored his 1,000th point with a three pointer during the game. Leading for Fayette was Torian Jenkins with 31 points and 12 rebounds. 

 

Fayette came together for Saturday's game against Brandywine, starting the game on fire with a 21 point lead at the half. Brandywine came alive in the second half scoring 35 but it was enough with Fayette matching plus one, with 36. The final score was Fayette 81, Brandywine 59. Leading for Fayette was Jahmere Richardson with 25 points, however Dasilas Jones stole the show with 16 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds. 

Fayette will take a break for Thanksgiving, but come back strong with a home game against New Kensington on Tuesday, November 28 at 8:00 P.M.
