Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette wins home opener against Penn Highlands Community College.
Fayette started their season with on fire with a 93-72 victory over the Penn Highlands Community College Black Bears. Fayette came out with a big lead early, with a score in the first half of 52-33. Although, PHCC stepped it up in the second half, giving Fayette compeition with a 41-39 point difference in the second half, the Nittany Lions were unstoppable yesterday afternoon.
Coach Andy Hedrick spoke about the home opener, "I liked the way we ran the floor and got points in transition. Torian and Si [Dasilas] did a great job in transition both with scoring and assisting for easy layups."
Torian Jenkins and Dasilas Jones were leaders for Fayette. Jenkins scored 29 points, had 13 rebounds and 5 asissts. Jones finished with 22 points, 7 assists and 4 steals.
Fayette will travel to Franciscan on Wednesday, November 8 for a 7:00 P.M. start.
