Fayette beats USCAA No. 1 Wilkes Barre

Lemont Furnace, PA- Fayette has two huge wins on the weekend.

Fayette started off the weekend strong with a win over Penn State Scranton. In the first half Fayette outscored Scranton 44-37. In the second half Scranton outscored Fayette by one, but it wasn't enough to put a dent in the first half leadway. Despite Fayette's low shooting percentage, their defense kept them in front of Scranton, out rebounding them 48-43. Leading for Fayette was Darius Tigner with 21 points, not far behind was Torian Jenins with 18 points.

Fayette finished up the weekend with a earth shaking win over the USCAA Coaches Poll number one team, Penn State Wilkes Barre. Penn State Wilkes Barre is not only ranked first currently, but are also the USCAA defending National champions. Fayette came out on fire for the first half, outscoring Wilkes Barre 45-33. Fayette was able to shoot 52 % for field goals, compared to Wilkes Barre 48%. Despites Wilkes Barre come back in the second half of 52-45, it wasn't enough to swing the final result. Making Fayette victorious with a final score thriller of 90-85. Leading for Fayette was Dasilas Jones with 35 points and Torian Jenkins with 24 points.

Fayette will take a break from game play for the semester conclusion, but comeback in full swing for 2024 with a game on Saturday, January 6 at Glennville State.
