More than 800 PSUAC student-athletes earn academic honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The conference's Annual Report has been tallied and more than 800 PSUAC student-athletes earned academic honors during the 2020-21 academic year.

In total, 813 of the nearly 1,400 student-athletes earned PSUAC All-Academic honors. Conference academic honors are awarded to any student-athlete who earns a 3.0 semester GPA during their primary season of competition or finishes the year with a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Penn State Mont Alto led the way with 109 PSUAC All-Academic recipients, while Penn State Brandywine finished a close second with 107. Eight of the 14 campuses had 50 or more honorees.

In addition, 674 student-athletes earned Dean's List recognition over the two semesters, led by Brandywine with 116, and Mont Alto with 100. Dean's List awards are given to students who earn a 3.5 GPA during a semester; students can earn multiple Dean's List awards each year as it is semester based.

Nationally, PSUAC student-athletes earned USCAA National All-Academic honors as well with 245 student-athletes picking up the prestigious academic award. The USCAA National All-Academic teams are made up of student-athletes who have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher after completing at least two semesters. Penn State Fayette led the pack with 30 recipients, while Penn State Scranton earned 26. Penn State DuBois, Greater Allegheny, Mont Alto and Schuylkill all finished with more than 20 national awards.
