Penn State Brandywine Takes 2020-21 Chancellor's Cup, DuBois finishes second

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State Brandywine won the 2020-21 Penn State University Athletic Conference Chancellor's Cup, announced on Tuesday by the Conference Office. Brandywine captured the crown in a pandemic-affected year on the strength of a softball championship, their sixth such title in a row.

Brandywine also finished third in the baseball championship tournament and were runners up in the golf championship, all held in May, to finish with 23.0 points. Penn State DuBois finished second, their highest ever finish, on the back of a baseball title and a third-place finish in both softball and golf. DuBois finished one point back of Brandywine in the final standings.

The PSUAC conducted three championships this year, instead of the normal eight which count towards Chancellor's Cup standings. The seasons for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer and volleyball were all cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chancellor's Cup is awarded to the campus which displays comprehensive excellence by awarding points based upon their program finishes in PSUAC Championship sports.

Penn State Mont Alto, a perennial contender for the Cup, finished third after runner-up performances from both their baseball and softball teams. Penn State Hazleton finished fourth and Schuylkill fifth.
