Penn State Beaver Wins Chancellor's Cup in Shortened Season

2019-2020 Chancellor's Cup Standings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State University Athletic Conference released its final 2019-2020 Chancellor's Cup standings on Wednesday, with Penn State Beaver claiming the award. The pandemic shortened academic year, which saw the loss of both the baseball and softball seasons, still saw six of the PSUAC's eight championship sports complete a season.

Beaver dethrones Penn State Brandywine, who won the Cup three years in a row. Beaver had most recently won the award in 2015-16 before Brandywine's stronghold on the Cup. Beaver finished the year with 46.5 points, 1.5 points ahead of runners-up Brandywine and Penn State Mont Alto.

Beaver won only one conference title (women's basketball) in 2019-20, but finished second in both volleyball and men's soccer to help propel them up the standings. Their men's basketball team also made the playoffs.

Brandywine captured two conference titles, men's and women's soccer, and also finished second in women's basketball. Mont Alto won a conference title in men's basketball, while its men's and women's soccer, women's basketball and volleyball teams each made the playoffs.

Other conference champions included Penn State Lehigh Valley (golf) and Penn State Fayette (volleyball). The PSUAC also captured two USCAA Small College National Championships, as Fayette (volleyball) and Beaver (women's basketball) took home national titles.
