More than 70 PSUAC Spring Student-Athletes Recognized by USCAA

DUBOIS, Pa. - More than 70 Penn State University Athletic Conference student-athletes were recognized on Sunday by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements. Nearly 40 were honored as USCAA All-Americans, while 32 earned USCAA National All-Academic recognition.

USCAA All-Americans are nominated and voted on by coaches of the association, and all-academic recipients have a cumulative 3.5 grade-point average or higher with at least one full academic year under their belt.

The hardware haul was led by Penn State Brandywine's Julie Foeldes, who was named the USCAA Softball Student-Athlete of the Year. The USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year is awarded for outstanding academic achievement, athletic success and community service. Foeldes has earned a 3.98 GPA and played in more than 130 games for the Lions, amassing more than 100 hits in her four years on campus. Her work with Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that works with college athletic teams and children with serious illnesses, was also instrumental in her selection as Student-Athlete of the Year.

The USCAA is a national association that serves small colleges across the country, and is home to 13 Penn State campuses, all in the PSUAC.
