Beaver freshman Vanessa Jackson has been named this week's PSUAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. Jackson started four games on the mound this week, all of which were complete games, and earned three wins to improve Penn State Beaver to 23-19 on the year.
In her 29.1 innings pitched, the righty allowed just three earned runs and struck-out a staggering 22 batters for an overall ERA of .72. Jackson also added a save to her resume against Penn State Hazleton in their final regular season game of the year, 9-7 victory.
Vanessa is owning the PSUAC standings, as the Snohomish native sits second in strike-outs with 85 as well as second in ERA with 2.06, tied for first for saves with one, third in total wins with ten and fifth with runs batted in with 28.
