Senior Spotlight: Dylan Loss, Penn State Mont Alto

Welcome to our Senior Spotlight series. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the PSUAC had to cancel its fall and winter sport seasons. This prevented several student-athletes from receiving a proper senior day and minimized opportunities for Player of the Week awards. In its place, we will highlight seniors from around the conference throughout the remainder of the semester.

See more Senior Spotlight highlights on our Twitter (@psuac) and Instagram (psuac)!

How did your Penn State education prepare you for life after graduation? My education will help me succeed after graduation. The professors put the students before themselves so we can get the best possibly education. My experience and confidence I gained through my PTA lectures and labs have created a building block for future knowledge and skill acquisition.

How do you hope to be remembered by teammates and coaches? The one who can make anyone laugh.

What is your favorite memory from playing your sport at Penn State? My best “memory” will be going to practice. I spend lots of time studying and doing schoolwork and practice is one way I can step away and take a break. Coach Burke always makes practice fun with his competitions for a sleeve of golf balls.

What is the best advice you ever received from a coach or teammate that you would share with other student-athletes? Easiest way to take 5 strokes off your golf game is to bring an eraser.

What are you most looking forward to post graduation? Or in your transition to University Park (or other campus) to finish your degree? After graduation I am looking forward to not having to study anymore.

What are some of the tools or skills that you learned through all the years of playing your sport that you plan to instill once you enter the workforce? Frustration never solves anything, as a matter of fact, it makes things worse.

What impact did athletics have on your experience as a college student? What is your favorite memory outside of athletics during your time as a student-athlete? It really enabled me to test myself. I was able to balance school and sports very well and I am glad I was able to do so.

Please use this space to thank anyone you wish to acknowledge for their support during your academic and athletic career. My mother and father for doing everything in their power to allow me to play the sports I love. Without their support I would have never been able to play.
