Senior Spotlight: Raeann Sleith, Penn State Greater Allegheny

Welcome to our Senior Spotlight. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the PSUAC had to cancel its spring sport seasons. This prevented several student-athletes from receiving a proper senior day and minimized opportunities for Player of the Week awards. In its place, we will highlight seniors from around the conference throughout the remainder of the semester. Next in our series is Penn State Greater Allegheny's Raeann Sleith!

See more Senior Spotlight highlights on our Twitter (@psuac) and Instagram (psuacsports)!

Q&A

What advice do you have for your younger teammates or recruits that are looking at coming to Penn State Greater Allegheny?

I would tell younger teammates or recruits to make the most of their time at Penn State Greater Allegheny. I would recommend that they not just get involved in athletics, but to get involved and take advantage of all the opportunities that Penn State has to offer. Penn State Greater Allegheny has allowed me to major in both Business and Psychology, study abroad, travel to Puerto Rico for Alternative Spring Break twice, dance in THON 2018, hold numerous leadership roles on campus, make lifelong friends, have a summer internship in Key West, Florida, play a collegiate sport, and work as a Senior Admissions Intern, all while graduating on time in May 2020. When I started at GA in Fall 2016, I did not imagine that this was what my 4 years would hold.

What are your post-graduation plans? (short and long-term)

Short term, I will continue to be a boat captain and do marketing for Cruisin’ Tikis Key West. While I am doing that, I hope to get my TEFL certification and teach English abroad for a few years. After that, I might look into creating my own trip planning business and assist people with their traveling needs.

What is your favorite memory outside of athletics at Penn State?

It is hard to pick just one as my favorite memory, but my all-time favorite would be studying abroad in Vienna, Austria and traveling while I wasn't in class. I ended up making it to 16 different countries and 27 cities. Close tie after that would be being a dancer and representing PSUGA in THON 2018 or spending spring break 2019 and 2020 in Puerto Rico completing service projects.
