Senior Spotlight: Matt Smith, Penn State Greater Allegheny
Welcome to our Senior Spotlight. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the PSUAC had to cancel its spring sport seasons. This prevented several student-athletes from receiving a proper senior day and minimized opportunities for Player of the Week awards. Additional Info (if desired): I currently plan to be coming back for my 5th and final season since the heartbreaking new we received that our season has been cancelled because of COVID-19.
Q&A
- What has been your favorite memory while participating in athletics at your campus?
One of my most memorable times here at PSUGA was just hanging out with the team pushing each other in the gym and in the classroom everyday.
- What advice do you have for your younger teammates or recruits that are looking at coming to Penn State (campus name)?
My advice to the freshman coming into the PSUGA baseball program is to grind out everyday like its your last. Whether it is within the class room or in the gym, you never know when your names going to get called to step up which is why you always have to be ready.
- What are your post-graduation plans? (short and long-term)
Once I graduate I plan on relaxing and maybe taking a couple fishing trips with my friends. Long term I plan on being PA Game commission officer or PA State Police.
