Senior Spotlight: Austin Clark, Penn State Fayette

Welcome to our Senior Spotlight. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the PSUAC had to cancel its spring sport seasons. This prevented several student-athletes from receiving a proper senior day and minimized opportunities for Player of the Week awards. In its place, we will highlight seniors from around the conference throughout the remainder of the semester. We move to a baseball player at Penn State Fayette, Austin Clark!

See more Senior Spotlight highlights on our Twitter (@psuac) and Instagram (psuacsports)!

Q&A

What has been your favorite memory while participating in athletics at your campus?

My favorite memory would have to be hitting a grand slam against Penn State Beaver at home my junior year. We were down by 3 in the sixth inning and I hit the grand slam which put us on top going into the last inning and we ended up winning that game.

What life lessons did you learn while playing a sport at your campus?

The life lessons I learned were that don't take anything for granted. Everything happens for a reason. Be patient. Take advantage of the oppurtunites when they present themselves to you. You are an impact on and off the field. You impact so many people around you and you dont know it until it happens. Love every second of what you do. I loved playing baseball at Fayette and I believe this will set me up for my future job. LOVE WHAT YOU DO!

Are there teammates, coaches or family members you would like to thank for having a positive impact on your playing career?

I want to thank everyone that has impacted my life on and off the field. From the faculty/staff that impacted me on a daily baisis and help me get through the 4 years of college at Penn State Fayette. Also I want to thank all of my coaches through high school that got me to this point in life. You all impacted me at a young age and helped me mature. To the coaches here at Fayette, thank you for making a huge part of this team. For making me a role model for the younger players. I know I have impacted people on the team and to help the younger players get to where they are now and give them the confidence that they will have for many years to come. Also I want to thank my girlfriend for being by my side through all of the ups and downs I may have had during this time. You are such a huge part of my life. And the biggest part of my life that got me here, my family. Thank you for all of the countless hours of sacrifice you made for me to get where I am now in life. From a young boy in Rices Landng, PA to a young man that I am now is all because of you guys. Through all of the games I played when I was young to all of the games I played here at the college level. Thank you so much. I cant express how much y'all mean to me and I am so thankful for having you guys with me through all of this. Everyone I mentioned impacted me in so many ways and I am so thankful for that. Thank you Penn State! ( AC OUT! )
