Jack Eisele was a force in the midfield, tallying three goals across two matches, including a game-winning goal that sealed one of the wins at home against Penn State York. His consistent play helped set the tone for Penn State Scranton as the team earned back-to-back victories to kick off its conference schedule. Eisele started both games and showcased his offensive efficiency with 11 total shots, converting at a .273 clip.

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week 2

Brian Nguyen, Penn State Scranton

Center midfielder Brian Nguyen led the defense in back-to-back conference victories over Penn State York and Penn State Schuylkill. Nguyen made his first goal of the season against Penn State Schuylkill, resulting in a 7-1 victory where he locked down the midfield. 

Rookie of the Week 2

Chase Nederostek, Penn State Lehigh Valley

First Year

Walnutport, Pa

In his fourth career start, the first-year striker led Penn State Lehigh Valley to a dominating 8-1 win in its opening conference game of the season over Penn State Mont Alto. Nederostek had three shots on target and converted on all three scoring chances in route to a hat-trick in the first half of the game against Mont Alto. Those were Nederostek’s first goals of his college career.

Team of the Week 2

Penn State Scranton Men’s Soccer

The Nittany Lions opened up PSUAC play with two commanding victories, defeating Penn State York, 3-0, and dominating Penn State Schuylkill, 7-1. Midfielder Jack Eisele scored a goal in both contests and leads the team with six points on the season, while forward Fabrice Gatsinzi sits right behind him with five. The squad sits atop the PSUAC standings with an 3-2 record, 2-0 in conference play.
