WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Elizabeth Hungiville, Penn State DuBois

First Year

Smethport, Pa.

Forward Elizabeth Hungiville set a school record, scoring 34 points in a game against Pitt-Bradford. She played 32 minutes in the game and added 14 rebounds and five assists. Hungiville hit 13 of 20 shots from the floor, did not attempt a three-pointer, and connected on eight of 11 free throws. Penn State DuBois returns to action against Penn State Mont Alto on Dec. 6.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

D'Montez Owens, Penn State Shenango

Fourth Year

Warren, Ohio

Guard D’Montez Owens of Penn State Shenango scored 31 points against Allegheny College. He added six rebounds and three assists. He also put up a strong defensive effort with two steals. Shenango next plays at Saint Francis on Dec. 4 and then at Penn State York on Dec. 6.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

LeShawn Hammett Jr., Penn State Wilkes-Barre

First Year

Bronx, New York

On Sunday, Hammett Jr totaled a career-high 16 points off the bench in Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s win over Vaughn College. He shot eight for 12 and tallied three rebounds and assists. Hammett Jr is shooting 60% from the field on the season and averaging 12.7 points through his three games.
