Team of the Week 28

Penn State Brandywine Baseball

Penn State Brandywine swept all four games from division foe Penn State Hazleton Hazleton to take over sole possession of first place in the East. In four games, the Brandywine pitching staff combined to limit Hazleton to five runs on eight hits (only one of Hazleton's five runs was earned). Brandywine has now won nine-straight games for the first time since 2008.

Baseball Hitter of the Week 5

Jarrett Goodyear, Penn State Mont Alto

Jarrett Goodyear led Penn State Mont Alto to bounce-back wins over the weekend, propelling his team to a sweep of division foe Penn State Fayette. Goodyear finished the two-game sweep with four hits in six at-bats and three runs scored. Three of his four hits went for extra bases, as Goodyear cracked a double, triple and home run to hit for the cycle over the two games. Goodyear also drove in five runs while slugging 1.667.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week 5

Giovanni Scott, Penn State Greater Allegheny

Giovanni Scott pitched a gem for Penn State Greater Allegheny to lead his team to a win over division-leading Penn State DuBois to hand them their first defeat. Scott went seven innings and struck out six in the complete game victory. Scott scattered seven hits and allowed just two earned runs as his offense did just enough in a pitcher's duel, helping his team come out on top 3-2.

Softball Hitter of the Week 5

Tori Rabuck, Penn State Hazleton

Tori Rabuck had a stellar week, helping Penn State Hazleton to four wins in the conference. Tori went 12-for-18 on the week, driving in 17 runs and clubbing two home runs in the team's four wins over Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State Fayette. Rabuck's biggest hits of the weekend came on Saturday when she singled in the tying run in the seventh inning against Fayette, part of a five run, final inning comeback. Then in game two versus Fayette, Rabuck launched a three-run home run in the third inning to put Hazleton up 4-3 as her team went on to win 9-6.

Softball Pitcher of the Week 5

April Lewandowski, Penn State Brandywine

April Lewandowski picks up her second straight PSUAC Pitcher of the Week award after picking up two complete game wins over the weekend. Lewandowski tossed a one-hitter against Penn State Beaver and followed it up with a three-hitter against Penn State New Kensington, allowing just one run in that game. Lewandowski struck out six and five batters, respectively, and pitched to a .58 WHIP on the week.
