Enderle, Talla Earn Championship Week POTW Honors

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Katie Enderle, Penn State Beaver

First Year

Darlington, Pa.

Penn State Beaver guard Katie Enderle averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds in the playoffs, leading her squad to the PSUAC Championship. Enderle tallied a pair of double-doubles and shot 50% from the field across three playoff games, averaging 2.7 steals and one block per contest. Enderle earned Western Division Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-Conference honors. She finished in the top five in field goal percentage in the PSUAC, capping her standout rookie campaign with a conference title.

MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Veron Talla, Penn State Mont Alto 

Second Year

Lanham, Md.

Veron Talla led Penn State Mont Alto to a 75-67 win in the PSUAC Championship Game against Penn State DuBois. He led the game in both points and rebounds with 14 and 13, respectively. 

Throughout the tournament, Talla averaged 18 points and 13.7 rebounds while shooting just under 50% from the floor. He also tallied 2.3 blocks per game. By winning the PSUAC Tournament, Penn State Mont Alto clinched an automatic berth to the USCAA Tournament.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Katie Enderle, Penn State Beaver

First Year

Darlington, Pa.

Guard Katie Enderle, had an outstanding performance in the PSUAC Championship Game against Penn State Schuylkill. Enderle put up a total of 13 points and addded 15 rebounds, playing a large part in securing the win for her team. Penn State Beaver will play Miami-Hamilton on March 12 in a USCAA Division 2 small college national championship quarterfinal. 

TEAMS OF THE WEEK

Penn State Mont Alto Men’s Basketball

The Penn State Mont Alto men’s basketball team defeated Penn State DuBois, 75-67, in the PSUAC Championship Game to claim its first conference crown since 2020, and the fifth in program history. Mont Alto’s Veron Talla scored a team-high 14 points. Overall, four Mont Alto players finishing with 10 points or more and two others scored nine as the team finished the week 3-0 to advance as the PSUAC's automatic berth into the USCAA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship tournament.

Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball

The Penn State Beaver women's basketball team reached the PSUAC Championship game by defeating the top-seeded team in the West and then defeated Penn State Schuylkill, No. 1-seed from the East to claim their second straight conference championship. With the 76-60 victory, the team moves on to face Miami-Hamilton on March 12 in a USCAA Division II Small College National Championship quarterfinal.
