Ingram, Jones, Williamson Named Basketball Players of the Week; New Kensington Men's Soccer Garners Team of the Week

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week 2

Shar’Da Williamson, Penn State Shenango

Fourth Year

Warren, Ohio

Five-foot-eight guard Shar’Da Williamson stood tall, doing a little bit of everything for Penn State Shenango in a hard-fought game against Berkeley College. Williamson scored 20 points, pulled 17 rebounds (12 on the defensive end) and added four assists and a steal while playing 35 minutes in the game.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week 2

Dasilas Jones, Penn State Fayette

Fifth Year

Fairmont, W.Va.

Guard Dasilas Jones led Penn State in two games against Division II opponents. He scored 20 points, going 9 of 19 from the field, against PennWest-California, which is ranked sixth nationally. He then scored 21 points, going 7 of 11 and hitting all six of his free throws, against Glenville State.

Rookie of the Week 12

Geelece Ingram, Penn State Fayette

First Year

Uniontown, Pa.

Guard Geelece Ingram made a strong college debut. She scored 21 points, plucked six steals and grabbed five rebounds in her first women’s college basketball game, against Bucks County Community College. Four days later, she scored nine points with 14 rebounds and four assists against WVU Potomac.

Team of the Week 12

Penn State New Kensington Men’s Soccer

Success on and off the field punctuated the season for the Penn State New Kensington men’s soccer team. Along with reaching pool play in the USCAA Division II National Championship, the team rebounded from a 3-2 overtime loss to Central Penn to finish its season with a 3-2 victory over Paul Smith’s College. In addition, eight team members were recognized with prestigious All-American Academic honors — the highest number of honorees any PSUAC program.
