Mont Alto's Davey, Shenango's Ortiz Keep their Teams Humming, Earn POTW Honors

Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week 4

While not receiving a high volume of attacks, third-year middle hitter Arianna Davey is making the most of her opportunities with a .700 hitting percentage as Penn State Mont Alto went 3-0 this week with a big win against Penn State Schuylkill. This past week, Davey has led the team in hitting percentage with a .889 kill percentage against Penn State Schuylkill. This is her first season at Penn State Mont Alto.

Carla Ramirez Ortiz, Penn State Shenango

Carla Ramirez Ortiz beat her career high in assists with a whopping 42 last week against Penn State Greater Allegheny. This came after the setter stepped in for Jade Shattuck during her absence this past week. Ramirez Ortiz had double-digit dig performances in two of the three games she played. She has helped Shenango get to 3-0 in the young conference season with her efforts.
