Huskies Travel to Pennsylvania

Clark's Summit, Pa - - The Word of Life Huskies traveled down to Pennsylvania on Monday for a two-day trip to play Penn State-Scranton on Monday, and Clark's Summit on Tuesday. The game on Monday, April 8, was originally a doubleheader against Penn State Scranton, but both sides agreed to cancel the first game due to the Solar Eclipse that was going to take place on Monday afternoon. The 5 pm game Monday against the Lions was a tough one as the Lions took that game by a score of 14-1. Chloe Bethea went 1-2 with a double and scored on Sammy Richmond's RBI groundout.

On Tuesday, the Huskies faced off against Clark's Summit Defenders in a doubleheader. In game 1, the Defenders went on the Offensive early and scored 6 runs in the 1st Inning to take a commanding lead. In the 3rd inning, Anna Winters put the Huskies on the board with an RBI double before the Defenders scored 4 in the bottom half of the inning to take a 10-1 lead after 3. The Huskies would score their final run of the game in the 4th inning after Faith Lewis was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded which would score Caroline Perkins. The Huskies would fall 16-2 in game 1 against the Defenders and Game 2 would also go Clark's Summit's way with a 13-0 victory over Word of Life.

The Huskies' next scheduled game is Wednesday, April 30 against SUNY Adirondack at the Word of Life Pines Family Campground*.
